Proofreading - Revision

Atom e-City Ltd. also provides proofreading services for documents that you have already had translated. Document revision is assigned to specialised proofreaders, capable of correcting or adapting the editorial style, the syntax, the typography and the general consistency etc. Depending on the format, you will receive a document containing all of the proofreader's corrections and choices, along with the final version ready for publication.

The proofreading/revision of documents is subject to an hourly base rate and may vary depending upon the working language.

Unlike translation, it is more difficult to provide an accurate estimate of the time required for the proofreading of one or a number of documents: in addition to source text, technicality and terminological checks, the quality of the initial draft submitted also has a significant influence on the required proofreading time.

After a document has been analysed, and before it is proofread, a cost estimate is sent to the customer. If an estimated time overrun, and therefore a cost overrun, is anticipated while the revision is in progress, (for example, due to the poor quality of the document submitted for revision) the project manager will notify the customer, indicating the cost for the overrun. The full revision of the document is then only undertaken with the client's consent.
